In a Nutshell:

Input - devices that CAPTURE information.  A keyboard captures the fact that a key is pressed, and a mouse captures the movements of the user's hand.

Storage - devices that STORE information.  Any form of memory.  A place where data is stored.  You may not be able to see or read the information if it is only storage - but you can retrieve it from storage and then see it.

Output - devices that RELEASE information.  Users view information (that has been input and stored) on an output device.
